On the occasion of next year's world exhibition in Osaka, Japan, the EXPO office of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, in cooperation with the Austrian Fashion Association, invites fashion designers to take part in the corporate wear competition for the wardrobes of the Austria pavilion team. The Austrian contribution to Expo 2025 is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
With its focus on a responsible and sustainable future, EXPO 2025 will take place under the motto “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. With its pavilion, Austria contributes to the sub-theme “Empowering Lives” and places it under the musical motto “Austria. Composing the Future”. As an integral part of Austria's appearance on this international stage, the pavilion team's outfits should reflect this motto in an elegant and contemporary way.
Fashion designers and labels with headquarters in Austria are called upon to design the equipment for around 33 persons; the maximum budget of EUR 2,000 per person and wardrobe may not be exceeded.
A national jury of experts selects the three best submissions, whose creators are invited to develop and then present their concepts to the jury. The designer with the first-placed design will receive a prize money of EUR 2,500 and the commission to create the wardrobe for the team of the Austria Pavilion. The second and third place winners each receive an expense allowance of EUR 700.
