Felice Rix-Ueno was one of the most remarkable artists of the Wiener Werkstätte. She developed an unmistakable style that was characterised not least by her work in Japan.

In her second home country, Japan, she was also a university professor and founder of her own design institute.

 

Exhibition at the MAK Vienna

The Museum of Applied Arts, MAK, is dedicating the first solo exhibition outside of Japan to Felice Rix-Ueno, whose 130th birthday was celebrated last year, in the exhibition STARS, FEATURES, QUASTS. The Wiener Werkstätte artist Felice Rix-Ueno (1893-1967) offers a comprehensive insight into her richly shaped and colourful oeuvre with around 200 objects.
