EXPO 2010 SHANGHAI

The next World Exposition will take place from May 1st until October 31st in the  metropolis of Shanghai,  China’s  economic capital. This forthcoming EXPO promises to break all records: 70 million  visitors are expected. More than 200 participating countries, cities and international organizations will come together in a total area of 5, 28 km2.

The EXPO’s theme “Better City, Better Life”  reflects a global desire for a better quality of life  in the cities of the future. Austria participates in the Expo with a self-built pavilion focusing on  the subtheme of “Interaction between the rural and urban environment”, highlighting Austria’s specific demography and geography.

World Expositions are international, non-commercial exhibitions that have been taking place in various locations throughout the world since 1851. They offer a platform for countries, cities, and organizations to showcase cultural contributions and scientific innovations, and to establish ties for economic cooperation by dedicating themselves to the most prevailing questions of our time.
